Good Trade -BOOK
Trade Blanket. This project entail a Native American custom where indigenous tribes came together for social events and traded items as a way of obtaining things they needed. Native Americans traded harvest items, clothing, food, stones, craft items etc. The items to be traded were placed on the trade blanket and if the trade was successful, both parties would shake hands as an agreement and say, "Good trade". I have re-create this custom at different points of the journey and document the project through photographs. This will help keep Native American custom and traditions alive. We live in a capitalistic society filled with technology where simpler practices and ways of living often escape us. Trade Blanket has allow participants to trading items on their person at the moment . This keeps Cultural retention in communities .
